Problems I fix

How fast can you respond?

I reply to emergency requests within 2 hours during business hours (Monday–Friday, 8am–6pm Pacific), and usually much sooner. I also check messages on evenings and weekends and will get back to you the same day whenever I can. Maintenance plan clients get priority: they go to the front of the line, with guaranteed response times based on their plan.

Most common problems, like white screens, broken updates, and database errors, are fixed the same day. A full malware cleanup typically takes 24–48 hours, including hardening and checks.

How emergency repair works

  1. Tell me what's wrong. Send me your site URL, what you're seeing (a screenshot helps), and when it started. If you can, include your hosting company and whether anything changed recently.
  2. Quick assessment and a fixed quote. I take a look and tell you what I think is going on and what it will cost before I start any work. No surprises.
  3. Fix and clean up. I back up the site as it is, fix the problem, and test that everything works again: pages, forms, logins, and checkout.
  4. Harden it so it doesn't happen again. I update what's outdated, close security gaps, and send you a short summary of what happened, what I did, and what I'd recommend next.

Pricing

You get a fixed quote before I start. If I can't fix it, you don't pay.

Maintenance plan clients get priority response and 25% off emergency work. On the Premium plan, malware cleanup is included at no extra cost.

After the fix: keeping it from happening again

Most emergencies I fix come down to the same few causes: outdated plugins, no working backups, weak passwords, and nobody watching the site. Fixing the problem once is only half the job. Keeping it fixed means regular updates tested before they go live, daily off-site backups, security hardening, and uptime monitoring that catches trouble before your customers do. That's exactly what my WordPress maintenance plans cover, starting at $39/month, often less than the cost of one emergency repair.

Frequently asked questions

My site was hacked. What should I do right now?

Don't panic, and don't delete anything. The hacked files help show how the attacker got in. Here's what to do first:

  1. Change your passwords from a clean computer: WordPress admin, hosting account, FTP/SFTP, and database. Start with hosting.
  2. Check your hosting account for a recent backup, but don't restore it yet. Restoring without closing the security hole usually means getting hacked again within days.
  3. Take note of what you're seeing (redirects, spam pages, Google warnings, strange admin users) and when it started.
  4. Contact your host to find out whether they've suspended the site or flagged malware.
  5. Get in touch with me. I'll clean it up properly and make sure the attacker is locked out for good.

Will I lose my content or data?

In almost every case, no. Before I change anything, I take a full backup of your site as it is right now, so nothing is lost even if something goes wrong. Hacks usually add malicious code rather than delete your content. If content was damaged, I'll restore it from the most recent clean backup. If there are no backups at all, I'll recover as much as possible and tell you honestly what can and can't be saved.

Do you fix sites that aren't WordPress?

Yes. WordPress is my specialty, but I've worked on sites built with many other content management systems, custom PHP, and plain static HTML. The common emergencies are the same on any platform: broken pages, malware, server errors, slowdowns, DNS, SSL, and domain or hosting problems. Tell me what your site runs on and what's going wrong, and I'll let you know quickly how I can help.

Can you remove my site from Google's blacklist?

Yes. First I fully clean the site, because Google will reject a review request if any malware is still there. Then I request a review through Google Search Console and check other common blocklists too. Google usually reviews cleaned sites within a few days, though it can occasionally take longer. The timing is up to Google, but I handle the whole process and keep you updated until the warning is gone.
